Gown Lengths and Trains
Ballet Length features a gown that flows gently to the ankles.
Cathedral Train is a cascading train worn for the most formal weddings. It extends from six to eight feet behind the gown. Also referred to as Monarch Train.
Chapel Train One of the most popular of all train lengths. The train flows from thee to four feet behind the gown.
Court Train a gown with a train that that extends one foot longer than the sweep train.
Floor Length a gown that lightly touches the floor on all sides.
Hi-Low Length the gown features the intermission length on the front and floor length or longer on the back.
Intermission Length style features a hem that falls between the knees and ankle.
Royal Cathedral Train unfolds to ten feet or more. This style is reminiscent of Princess Diana’s voluminous train. Also known as a Traditional Royal Train.
Semi- Cathedral Train features a train that extends four to six feet behind the gown.
Street Length style features a hem just covering the knees
Sweep Train a gown with the shortest train that barely sweeps the floor.
Watteau Train Pronounced “wah toe.” This style features a train falling from the shoulder blades to the hemline of the gown.
