Wedding Gown Necklines

Be creative when choosing the style of your wedding gown neckline, but most importantly have fun!

Queen Anne Neckline a high rising collar at the back of your neckline, cupping the side of the neck, then sculpting low across the chest to outline a bare yoke.

Bateau (Boat) Neckline softly follows the curve of the collarbone. Lifting high in the front and back, it opens wide at the sides, and ends in shoulder seams.

Contessa Neckline an off-the-shoulder gown that is attached to sleeves which are cut approximately three inches below the shoulder and form a continuous line across the arms and chest when arms are resting at the side.

Decollete A formal style that is cut low at neckline, exposing the neck and back or cleavage of bosom.

Halter Neckline a deeply sleeveless gown often displayed with a high choke neck

Illusion High Neckline a gown with a yoke of sheer net and an ornately decorated satin band (sometimes plain band), fitting snugly on the neck creating a choker effect.

Jewel Simple , round neckline at the base of the neck.

Off-The-Shoulder Neckline gently hovers across the top of the bust-line. It may be attached to a sheer yoke of net or organza and a high collar. Shoulders are usually uncovered or are able to be seen through the sheer yoke

Open Sweetheart Back Yoke features a heart shaped opening that is often fringed with beads. This style is also known as a Keyhole Back.

Portrait Neckline features a shawl collar that wraps the shoulders.

Sabrina Neckline features a high scoop neck.

Scoop Neckline a soft softly curved line gently sloping downward across the bodice.

Square Neckline an opened yoke that is shaped in the form of a half square.

Sweetheart Neckline A very popular neckline with a graceful, open yoke that is shaped like the top half of a heart.

Tank Top Bodice a sleeveless gown with a scoop neck.

U-Scalloped Neckline has an open neck in the shape of a 'U,' and embellished with scalloped lace appliqués.

V-Neckline an open yoke that comes to a ‘V’ shape halfway down the bodice.

Wedding Band Neckline a gown where the yoke is either open, or made of sheer net with an ornate banding that fits snugly on the neck. This creates a choker effect.
